The following services are offered to qualified individuals:
Evidence Based Supported Housing is designed for consumers with serious mental illness to assist with independent living in the community. Thirty six apartments are scattered throughout Houston County and 3 case managers provide basic living skills and case management services. Consumers from across the 5 counties reside in the apartments.
Foster Homes are available for those consumers who need some continued assistance with basic living skills to the extent the consumer is unable to live in an independent setting. Admissions, transfers, and discharges are coordinated by SpectraCare with input from the consumer and significant others (when permitted by the consumer). Foster homes include Dusy, Kornegay, and Lena, all in Houston County. Admissions are accepted from Barbour, Dale, Geneva, Henry, and Houston Counties.
Residential Care Homes with Specialized Services are designed to provide residential services for consumers recently released from state hospitals or for consumers in the community who may experience an increase in psychiatric symptoms. Services are provided to seriously mentally ill adults who require specialized treatment, social rehabilitation, and other community support services. Facilities include Cottonwood Residential Care Home with Specialized Services – Intense, Dothan Alma Middleton Residential Care Home with Specialized Services – Medical, Midland City Residential Care Home with Specialized Services – Co-occurring, Samson Residential Care Home with Specialized Services, Webb #1 Residential Care Home with Specialized Services and Webb #2 Residential Care Home with Specialized Services. These facilities accept consumers from Barbour, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston Counties as well as from Region IV.
Supported Housing is a service provided to consumers that help assist them with living independently in the community. Three 10 unit apartment complexes offer a priority to consumers with mental health, intellectual disability, and substance abuse services, with the highest priority given to consumers with a serious mental illness. The apartment complexes are located in Barbour, Dale, and Henry Counties and are available for consumers in the catchment area.
