The following services are offered to qualified individuals:
Psychiatric Services and Nursing Services are provided that include physician assessment and treatment, medication monitoring, medication administration, and mental health consultation. Telemedicine services are provided to allow for quick access to a psychiatrist when needed.
Adult Intensive Day Treatment is designed to offer a combination of time limited, goal oriented treatment services provided according to a multiple hour schedule over a week’s time period. Treatment is focused on eliminating or reducing psychiatric symptomatology and dysfunction stemming from a mental illness. (Barbour County attendees participate at a facility in Henry County, Dale County, Geneva County, Henry County, and Houston County)
Emergency Services is offered through a 24 hour crisis line provided as a public service to individuals and agencies. The primary purpose is crisis intervention and resolution. The counselor determines if there is an immediate threat to the caller or to another person and takes whatever steps are necessary to minimize the threat. (Barbour, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston Counties)
Indigent Drug Program is designed to provide medications to those consumers who qualify through an agreement with the Alabama Department of Mental Health. Medications are provided at a very minimal cost and include many of the current medications available to assist with stabilization of symptoms. (Barbour, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston Counties)
Nursing Home Program is designed to provide assistance to some of the consumers who live in the catchment area. A case manager works with the consumer, nursing home staff, and families when possible, to insure the consumer is receiving appropriate care and services.
Patient Assistance Program is designed to provide assistance for consumers with obtaining needed medication through various pharmaceutical company programs. Consumers receive assistance with filling our forms, working with pharmaceutical companies, etc. (Barbour, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston Counties)
Rehabilitative Day Program provides long-term recovery services with the goals of improving functioning, facilitating recovery, achieving personal life goals, regaining self-worth, optimizing illness management, and helping consumers to become productive participants in family and community life.
